BJP leader Parvesh Verma, when asked about the possibility of being appointed as Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the party and its mission. Verma expressed his readiness to accept any responsibility the party assigns him, emphasizing his dedication to serving the BJP with sincerity and diligence.
Speaking to the media, Verma said, “I have always been and will continue to be a dedicated worker of the BJP. The party made my father the Chief Minister of Delhi, and he served the party until his last breath. Whatever responsibility the party gives me, I will carry it out to the best of my abilities.”
Verma also highlighted the BJP’s commitment to fulfilling every promise made in its manifesto. “The people of Delhi have shown us immense love, and after 27 years, the BJP is about to form the government in Delhi. I express my gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose vision of development has earned the trust of the people. The people believe that under his leadership, we will make Delhi the most beautiful capital,” he added.
Verma extended his best wishes to the party workers, acknowledging their hard work and the success it has brought. “Today is a significant day. The promises we made for a developed Delhi will be fulfilled, and everything we outlined in our manifesto will be accomplished,” he said.
Rekha Gupta is set to take the oath as Delhi’s Chief Minister at a ceremony at Ramlila Maidan, along with six other ministers, including Parvesh Sahib Singh, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra, and Pankaj Kumar Singh.
Rekha Gupta will be the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi, following women leaders from BJP, Congress, and AAP. She will succeed Atishi in the role. Gupta, elected from the Shalimar Bagh seat, has served as the general secretary of the BJP Mahila Morcha in Delhi and as a member of its national executive committee, championing numerous campaigns for the welfare of marginalized communities and women.
The BJP is forming a government in Delhi after a gap of 27 years. In the recent assembly elections, the BJP secured 48 out of 70 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party won only 22. Congress was unable to secure any seats for the third consecutive election.
